In view of the upgradation of existing pavement at Box Cutting road in Kohima, Deputy Commissioner, Kumar Ramnikant has ordered closure of the said road for normal vehicular traffic from November 20 to November 27.
In this regard, vehicles have been directed to use alternate routes adjacent to the Box Cutting Road.
Axel restriction: Meanwhile, the axel restriction on movement of heavy motor vehicles (HMVs) along NH-2 in Kohima district has been lifted with immediate effect, following a work and safety report from NHIDCL. In an order, DC further said that based on the recommendation of NHIDCL, the maximum total vehicle weight (with load) in Kohima district has been restricted to 30 tonnes.
