DMHSS felicitates students

Dimapur Mission Higher Secondary School (DMHSS) felicitated 130 students who were successful in the HSLC and HSSLC examinations, 2018, at DABA Town Fellowship, Churches Colony, Dimapur on Friday. The school has delivered 100 percent HSLC results since 2014 and has performed remarkably well in the HSSLC exams.
Sangerbenla Tzudir, secured the 6th position in the toppers list, thereby becoming the first student from the school to break into the toppers’ list.  In recognition of her achievement, the school awarded her a cash reward of Rs 25,000 and a citation for Academic Excellence.
Addressing her peers, teachers and the governing council of the school, Sangerbenla thanked everyone, starting from the school faculty to her peers and siblings, who provided her with the much needed support.  She thanked her mother for fasting for her throughout the duration of the examination, and she also had words of praise for her father. Speaking about the qualities and habits that helped her become a topper, she said, “It starts with identifying your needs. Your basic needs and wants must be met.  Identify yourself and work on your strengths and overcome your weaknesses.”
The school has instituted a cash award of Rs 25,000 for those that secure a place in the top 10 and Rs 15,000 for top 11 to 20. Apart from Sangerbenla, the students who secured distinctions were also awarded Rs 2000 each. The subject teachers whose students secured distinctions were awarded Rs 2000 each and all the other teachers were awarded Rs 1000 each for their efforts. 
Earlier, the principal of the school, Alemtushi Imchen gave a report of the performance of the school over the years. Of the 31 students who appeared the HSLC exam this year, 15 students secured distinction in different subject and 5 students secured distinction marks in the HSSLC examination.
A felicitation address was delivered by K. Temjen Jamir and Rev. N. Tzudir spoke some words of encouragement. Former chairman, governing board, DMHSS Lanulemba Jamir,  Rev. I Wati, pastor also expressed his appreciation to the students and school on behalf of DABA. A dedicatory prayer was pronounced for the students by pastors of the Ao Baptist Church. The programme was chaired by Dr. Jamedi Longkumer, invocation was pronounced by Youth Director, DABA Jongshimanen, and benediction was said by chaplain DMHSS, Merensola. The other highlights of the program were a special song by the outgoing class 12 students and a group presentation of the school anthem.
