East Dimapur Town Council (EDTC) has directed all butcher shop owners within its juris22diction to install glass enclosures covering their meat display areas by April 19, 2025.
EDTC ADC Dimapur and executive officer, Zakabo V Rotokha, informed that the measure aims to ensure hygiene, food safety, and compliance with health regulations.
Butcher shop owners have been directed to take immediate steps to adhere to this requirement. Failure to comply with this directive by the stipulated deadline will result in penalties including fines and possible closure of establishments.
