Engaged in ceasefire to create conducive environment: NSCN-K (Ang Mai-Mulatonu)

In response to the aspirations of the people, the NSCN-K (Ang Mai-Mulatonu) said it was engaged in a bilateral ceasefire process with the central government to create a conducive environment for dialogue and expedite resolving the Indo-Naga-Myanmar political issue.

In pursuit of this objective, the group in a statement said it had held multiple meetings with representatives of the central government with the aim of fulfilling the people’s desire for a ceasefire between both parties.

It claimed that the initiative sought to accelerate the peace process while preventing confrontations and bloodshed in the region. Further, NSCN-K (Ang Mai-Mulatonu) appealed Naga people for their prayerful support and voluntary financial contributions as it continued to work collectively to uphold Naga sovereignty.

Additionally, the group announced that deputy secretary Kangxi Lang had been designated as in-charge for Dimapur, Niuland and Chümoukedima districts. It may be mentioned that the representatives of NSCN-Khaplang (Ang Mai-Mulatonu), were in New Delhi in December last year for a second round of negotiations.

According to The Print, citing sources in the security establishment, there has been no real outcome from the negotiations with the Ang Mai-Mulatonu group, so far.
