Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO) has welcomed the state government’s “broad based initiative” to hold the ‘Naga Summit’ in the month of February to deliberate on the ongoing International border fencing work at Pangsha village, under Tuensang district, which is being carried out jointly by India and Myanmar.
ENPO thought its media cell said the matter was a subject inherent to the Indo-Naga political issue, which “out rightly qualifies” to be addressed politically at the highest level in the most urgent and appropriate manner.
Further, ENPO said it has resolved to equally urge the Nagaland government to move an emergency assembly session before the summit, and evolve subsequent proceedings for further deliberations of safeguarding the integrity and sanctity of national borders in both the houses of parliament to be endorsed through the MPs from the state.
According to ENPO, it was also officially engaged through due process for the same with the relevant ministers and authorities of government of India, Myanmar and the state government along with the immediate and concerned landowners for “trilateral” approach on the matter.
The ENPO asserted that Article 371A of the India constitution would also be a central reference point in the subject matter.
