FGN cautions misuse of name

Dimapur

Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) under the leadership of Brig. (Retd.) S. Singnya has issued a stern directive to former deputy kilonser and lecy Speaker, Atovi Chishi, for allegedly collecting taxes from traders and businessmen by misusing the name of FGN. MIP of the group said, according to termination Azha issued by the Kedhage on March 25, 2025, Atovi was officially removed from his position with effect from March 26 under Article 31 of the Yehzabo for misuse of power and financial misconduct. Therefore, FGN stated that unauthorized tax collection in its name was unacceptable and warned that failure to cease such activities would invite strict action. The directive also instructed Atovi to disassociate himself entirely from the NNC/FGN under Brig. (Retd.) S. Singnya’s leadership, emphasizing that the Azha was issued in good faith to uphold peace and harmony among the Nagas.
