Former USLP president Yonghopi passes away

Former president of the United Sangtam Likhüm Pümji (USLP), Yonghopi Sangtam, passed away at the age of 86 on October 18 at Naga Hospital, Kohima, following a prolonged illness.
A native of Chungtor village under Longkhim area in Tuensang district, late Yonghopi was widely respected for his dedicated service to the community. He had served as USLP president and retired as District Sports Officer, Tuensang. Until his demise, he was serving as honorary secretary of the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Tuensang. He is survived by one son, two daughters, ten grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
President of Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO), Chingmak Chang, visited Naga Hospital Kohima and paid tribute to the departed leader. Describing Yonghopi as a man of resilience, compassion and commitment, Chang said his passing has left a deep void in the community.
On behalf of ENPO, Chang extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and offered prayers for strength and comfort, expressing hope that they would find solace in cherished memories and the support of well-wishers.
The mortal remains of late Yonghopi were taken to Tuensang, where he had been residing permanently. His funeral service will be held there on October 20.

Sethrongkyu Sangtam has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Yonghopi Sangtam, former president of United Sangtam Likhüm Pümji (USLP), who passed away on October 18. In a condolence message, the advisor conveyed heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family on behalf of his own family and prayed that the Almighty grant them strength, peace and comfort during this time of grief. He also prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
