F&SC deptt assures adequate LPG stock

Food & Civil Supplies (F&CS) department reassured the public that there was no shortage of LPG (domestic and commercial) or other petroleum products in the state at present. In a notification, the department said adequate stocks were being maintained by the oil marketing companies, and supply lines continued to function normally.
Dismissing rumour circulating in some quarters regarding possible shortages, the department has urged the people not to panic or resort to unnecessary hoarding of LPG cylinders or fuel. It said such practices could disrupt the smooth and equitable distribution system and cause inconvenience to others. Further, the department advised the public to rely only on official communications issued by the government and not to believe or spread unverified messages through social media or other informal channels. The department has also directed all deputy commissioners and responsible authorities to closely monitor the situation in their respective districts to ensure uninterrupted supply and distribution; prevention of hoarding and black marketing, and strict adherence to prescribed prices. For any clarification, one can contact the concerned district authorities or the department.
