GBUD (S) concerned over online ILP system

DIMAPUR, JUN 6 (NPN)

Extending support to the government’s decision to enforce Inner Line Permit (ILP) all over Nagaland state including Dimapur district, the GB Union Dimapur (Sadar) has, however, raised concern over the online ILP system.
In a letter to the deputy commissioner (DC) Dimapur, GBUD (S) president W Kholie Kapfo and general secretary T. Onen Jamir extended full support to the government decision and assured to assist the district administration for the implementation of ILP within the Dimapur Sadar areas.
However, GBUD (S) highlighted practical difficulty concerning ILP application process, which has been fully transitioned to online system.
The union argued that majority of non-indigenous people residing in Dimapur would face problems due to lack of knowledge of using the ILP portal app. “The implementation of ILP may be vastly hindered if it is only carried out through online system,” GBUD (S) stated.
Further, the union also sought considerable period of time to complete the ILP documentation process.
Therefore, for the convenience of the common public and the success of the ILP implementation, the union urged the DC to intervene and address the matter.
