Governor interacts with Naga students in Pune

Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya held an interactive session with members of the Naga Students’ Union, Pune (NSUP) at ELTIS, Symbiosis Pune on  September 28.

In a press release, the PRO to Governor stated that, during the interaction, the Governor said that an educated society made the society stronger because a group of graduates contribute more and take less from society. Stating that education was not a disease but the solution, he encouraged the students to come back to their state once they completed their education and develop their community and society.

He also called on the students to take keen interest in learning the local language and take active part in cultural exchange programs so as to promote the rich culture and traditions of the Nagas. He also emphasised on the importance of the mother tongue as it, he said, was the first identity of one’s root.

NSUP president, Lulu N Lohe and her executives expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Governor for making time to interact with the students in the city. SK Souriio H, former president and advisor, stated that it was a first where “a Governor from outside had interactions with Nagas residing in Pune”, and he expressed hoped to see more such interactions in the days to come.
