DIMAPUR: GPRN/NNC (AB) has resolved to extend full support to N. Kitovi Zhimomi, working convenor of the Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs), during a consultative meeting held on May 18.
In a statement issued through its MIP, the organisation described itself as people oriented and reaffirmed that it continues to function under the leadership of its president, S. S. Pongkhu Naga. Speaking at the meeting, Pongkhu recalled that the organisation had participated in 17 rounds of discussions among Naga Political Groups facilitated by the FNR, aimed at fostering unity. He expressed disappointment that reconciliation efforts had not yielded the desired outcome, leading to continued uncertainty over the Naga political solution.
The organisation noted that the Government of India remains engaged in peace talks with the Working Committee of NNPGs (WC NNPGs) led by N. Kitovi Zhimomi, centred on the implementation of the historic Agreed Position signed between the GoI and NNPGs in November 2017.
Reaffirming its stand, GPRN/NNC (AB) maintained that Naga history cannot be rewritten and insisted that any final political solution should be based on the Agreed Position under the leadership of the WC NNPGs.
The organisation reiterated its full support to N. Kitovi until a lasting and honourable solution is achieved. It also appealed to all Nagas to rise above differences and unite in solidarity, expressing confidence in his leadership and urging collective efforts towards securing the aspirations and future of the Naga people.
