Handicraft day observed at Chozuba

Chozubami Woman Society (CWS) observed handicraft day on January 23 at Chozuba to revive the rich tradition and culture of its society. 
A press note by CWS president, Nuzolu Rhakho stated that womenfolk from the village came together in full traditional attires to sing, practice, teach and learn the art of weaving. Experts and skilled weavers demonstrated to young girls the art of processing cotton into yarns, weaving and dyeing. 
Dyeing fabrics in five colors extracted from plants and stems passed down from forefathers was demonstrated. 
Traditional dyeing produces red, yellow, black, blue and green colours. The handicraft day was filled with joy, singing traditional songs and merry making.
