Advisor for Industries and Commerce, Hekani Jakhalu, launched the new Hyundai Creta Electric at Floyd Hyundai, Purana Bazaar, Dimapur, on Thursday.
Speaking at the event, Jakhalu emphasized the need for sustainable solutions to combat global warming and climate change, and lauded Floyd Hyundai for introducing the electric vehicle (EV) in Nagaland, calling it a step towards a greener future.
“Electric cars are the future, and I am grateful to see this initiative in our state. Climate change is real, and it is time for each of us to take meaningful action”, she stated, while highlighting on the environmental benefits of EVs as compared to conventional vehicles.
Jakhalu further dwelled on the Government of India’s push for electric mobility, informing that GST on EVs has been reduced from 15% to 5% to make them more accessible, and urged citizens to adopt sustainable practices and “go green.”
Delivering a short speech, Regional Sales Head, Hyundai Motors India Ltd, Tarun Kumar, expressed confidence in the Creta Electric’s potential to dominate the EV market, while stressing that Hyundai was focused on customer satisfaction.
He further highlighted features such portable chargers, available at minimal costs, to address concerns over unavailability of charging stations in the state.
He later opined that introduction of Creta Electric would boost sales in the EV segment, pointing that this was the right time to transition to electric vehicles. He also viewed that once more EVs are on the road, the state government would be compelled to enhance EV charging stations in the state.
Meanwhile, delivering a short speech, dealer Principal, Floyd Hyundai, Er. Shikato Jakhalu, expressed concern over the lack of functional charging stations in the state. He revealed that while six charging stations exist in the state, none were operational, and thereby appealed to Hyundai to take the lead in installing reliable charging stations to support the growing EV market.
It may be noted that the new Hyundai Creta Electric comes with two ranges, Creta Electric Standard Range, and Creta Electric Long Range. The former has four variants, Executive, Smart, Smart (O), and Premium, ranging from Rs. 19,98,148 to Rs. 22,13,493 (on road price), while the Creta Electric Long Range is of two variants, Smart (O) LR, and Excellence LR, ranging Rs. 23,74,279 and Rs. 25,88,660 (On road price), respectively.
The new Hyndai Creta Electric offers driving range upto 473 KM per full charge, coming off of a 51.4 kWH battery pack, and 8 years/1,60,000 km battery warranty.
