Three-day training cum demonstration on “integrated disease and insect pest management in solanaceous vegetable crops” under TSP was conducted by ICAR research complex for NEH region, Nagaland centre, Jharnapani Mediziphema from September 29 to October 1 at ICAR Jharnapani.
The programme was to promote integration of biological agents for pest and diseases management in vegetable crops, where scientist (pathology) Dr. G. Rajesha briefed about the training, which was focused on several bio-control agents on plant health. Demonstration was also conducted on use of different techniques and methods of application of bio-control agents and biofertilizers in crops plants, extraction and use of plant products particularly need based for pest and disease management. The resource persons from ICAR complex, Nu-SASRD, Biocontrol lab-Medziphema, KVK-Dimapur and KVK-Longleng participated for successful completion of training programme. 22 farmers from 5 villages of Dimapur district participated in the training program. During valedictory function joint director Dr. Bidyut C. Deka advised the participants to share the learning experience to other farmers in their respective villages. The inputs like Trichoderma, Rhizobium, Azospirilum and Phosphotica were distributed to all the farmers.
