IDSP Phek conducts refresher training

Integrated Disease Surveillance Program (IDSP) Phek conducted Block Level refresher training on the use of Integrated Health Information Platform (IHIP) for effective reporting under IDSP by all the reporting health units. The training was conducted on May 21-27 in five blocks viz Phek Sadar, Chozuba block, Meluri block, Pfutsero block and Kikruma block.


A press release by National Health Mission (NHM) Phek informed that during the training, General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) and Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery (ANM) were re-oriented on how to enter data in S, P and L forms using mobile app/web portal. The resource persons were district surveillance officer, Dr. Shevo Hiese, epidemiologist, Dr. Limatoshi, and data manager, Kedupa Venuh.


The resource persons highlighted that IDSP reporting is real time data reporting through mobile applications and web portals accessible from all levels of health unit.
The trainees were informed that the surveillance system for epidemic prone diseases was to detect the early warning signals so that timely and effective public health actions could be initiated in response to health challenges in the district.


Dr. Shevo elaborated on the case definition in P form on measles, diphtheria, dengue fever etc., while Dr. Limatoshi shared the six types of diseases such as Ebola, Nipah virus, yellow fever, West Nile fever and MERS/COV/SARS Cov, and to enter data efficiently in L Form, P Form and S form was oriented by Kedupa.
