‘Japan Job fair’ at Nagaland University Medziphema Campus

School of Agricultural Sciences at Nagaland University (NU), Medziphema Campus, hosted a “Japan Job Fair” on August 26 at Multi-Purpose Hall.


At the fair, the university welcomed 170 agricultural students, including B.Sc. (Hons) Ag, M.Sc. (Ag) students, and PhD (Ag) scholars. The event was organized by the Embassy of Japan in India, New Delhi, with support from the Japan Agricultural Corporations Association (JACA), the National Chamber of Agriculture, and the Institute for the Development of Agricultural Cooperation in Asia. Local facilitation was provided by ARMs Incorporation, Nagaland unit, and IDAN, Government of Nagaland.


Eight Japanese companies -Agricultural Cooperative Corporation MIZUDORI, AZU Ltd, Otsukaen Ltd, Kato Enoki Co., Saikoue Co., Ranmeisha Ltd., Act Farm Ltd., and Top River Ltd participated in the fair.
At the fair, company owners and representatives engaged directly with the students, offering opportunities for “Technical Intern Training” and “Specified Skilled Workers (i)/(ii)” in agriculture and livestock sectors.


Pro Vice Chancellor of SAS: Nagaland University, Medziphema Campus Prof. Akali Sema, delivered the welcome note and, first secretary at the Embassy of Japan in India Masami Ota, highlighted the fair’s significance for both countries. The event included a video presentation on Japanese agriculture and an explanation of the training programs by Kohei Aoki from the National Chamber of Agriculture.


The fair also drew attention with the presence of an agricultural science graduate from Uttar Pradesh, who traveled to Nagaland to pursue his dream of working in Japan. The job fair provided a unique opportunity for students to gain insights into Japanese company culture and the agricultural industry, with many expressing interest in learning Japanese to pursue careers or internships in Japan.
