DIMAPUR, MAY 31 (NPN): Kuki Inpi Nagaland (KIN) has refuted rumours alleging that some Kuki villages in Ahthibung area of Peren district were raising or organising village volunteers.
In a press note, KIN said that the allegations were completely false, baseless and devoid of any factual foundation.
KIN maintained that no such activities were taking place in any Kuki village and asserted that the veracity of its statement could be independently verified from the villages concerned as well as the relevant authorities. KIN appealed to the public not to lend credence to or propagate what it described as unsubstantiated rumours.
It cautioned that the deliberate dissemination of false information could create unnecessary fear, confusion, mistrust and misunderstanding among communities, disturbing the peaceful atmosphere and harmonious coexistence that communities in the district have long maintained.
