Polling personnel for 111 polling stations under Kiphire district were sent for the Lok Sabha by-election duty, along with security personnel, today. Three polling stations — Okhe village, Longthonger village and Polling station 48 Kiphire town N/C — are women polling personnel only.
Talking to this correspondent, Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer Kiphire, Mohammed Ali Shihab said that unlike in the previous election, this Nagaland MP election is witnessing systemic changes as he said he has been seeing more cooperation from the polling personnel. He said that owing to deployment of women polling duty officials and deployment of women in control rooms, the workload has decreased. Separate Control rooms for 59 A/C and 60 A/C have been setup at the DC & DEO Office Kiphire.
While sending women personnel for polling duty to three polling stations, Deputy Commissioner & DEO Kiphire encouraged them to keep the spirit of service for the country. He said that he had seen more enthusiasm among the women personnel during the deployment.
Out of 111 polling stations under Kiphire district, polling station 46 under 60 AC, Vongtsuvong Village and polling station 14 under 59 AC, Shishimi Village, have no road connectivity so polling personnel have to walk part of the way.
