Konyak Students Union Kohima condemns rape

Konyak Students Union Kohima (KSUK) has strongly condemned the “barbaric and horrific act” of one Rahul Sen of Dihbrugarh District, Assam, of raping a minor girl, on several occasions, in Mon District.
In a press release, KSUK president, Hongpe Maoba and general secretary, David Konyak expressed shock over the incident and stated that such acts would not be accepted in civilized society.
Konyak Students Union Kohima also mentioned that no community or organization should defend or justify such inhuman acts as the accused has admitted to committing the offence.
It further requested all right thinking citizens to condemn such inhuman acts and appealed to the law enforcing authorities to deliver justice to the victim without delay and to award stringent punishment to the culprit who, the union said, should not be granted bail at any cost.
