
Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Tuensang training partner of Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI) and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, India has launched a 200 hrs skill development course on quality seed growers and mushroom grower from February 27 to March 23.
A press release from KVK Tuensang stated that, addressing at the programme Martina Shitiri, assistant chief technical officer (ACTO), genetics and plant breeding, KVK, Tuensang, highlighted the importance of the skill development training programme and encouraged the rural youths to learn and apply the skills to be self employed and self reliant.
Course directors for the quality seed growers course were Martina Shitiri, ACTO (genetics and plant breeding) and for mushroom growers, Eliseni Tsopoe, SMS (plant protection).
Programme was chaired by Eliseni Tsopoe and vote of thanks was delivered by Seveto Nyekha, programme assistant. Altogether 40 rural youths from 12 villages participated in the launching of the skill development training programme.
Programme aims at training candidates for the job role of quality seed growers and mushroom grower, in the agriculture and allied sector/industry and at building the key competencies amongst the learners so that they become self-reliant and to develop entrepreneurial skill in the field of agriculture.
