KVSU urges students to walk on ‘WED’

Kohima Village Students’ Union (KVSU) has appealed to all the educational institutions within the Kohima village premises to let the students walk to school except class 2 and below on world environment day (June 5). KVSU also informed that all the vehicular movement would be discouraged on that day.
The KVSU in the press release stated that this initiative came from the global theme “connecting people to nature”. KVSU expressed its wish to inculcate the concept of car-pooling to tackle the menace of pollution and urged the students residing in the same locality/neighbourhood to travel in one car (a minimum of three students per car).
KVSU informed that to commemorate the world environment day the union would conduct plantation drive in all the educational institutions around the village area where ornamental tree sapling would be provided for planting.
