Loyola HSS Jakhama hosts disability awareness seminar

DIMAPUR

NSS Unit of Loyola Higher Secondary School, Jakhama, in partnership with the Nagaland State Disability Forum (NSDF), conducted a Disability Awareness Program for senior students of Classes 11 and 12 on August 12, 2025.
The seminar featured key resource persons including Ngaongongbe, Inclusive Education Resource Person under Samagra Shiksha, Department of Education, Government of Nagaland; Fatima Kere, president of NSDF; and Kezhaleto Zecho, former president of NSDF. The speakers addressed pressing issues faced by persons with disabilities, emphasizing the importance of accessibility, inclusive education, and attitudinal change. Real-life experiences shared during the session offered students a deeper understanding of the challenges and resilience within the disability community.
Organized under the guidance of NSS animators Swedevinu Tase and Seyiesel Hibo, the program witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who engaged actively in the interactive discussions. Meanwhile, the school expressed gratitude to NSDF and the resource team for their impactful contribution toward building a more inclusive society.
