Marwaripatti traders decry poor road condition

DIMAPUR, AUG 25 (NPN)

Marwaripatti Area Business Association Dimapur (MABAD) expressed dismay over the worsening condition of roads in the locality, particularly the main stretch along Marwaripatti road.
MABAD president Zheito Chophy said that residents of Marwaripatti for decades have proactively nurtured their locality’s infrastructure. He said that roads such as Jain Temple Road and Jain Bhawan Road were built and maintained over the years through community goodwill, donations, and collective effort. However, despite their relentless contributions in trade, business, and civic responsibility, MABAD said Marwaripatti continued to be overlooked in terms of essential civic amenities.
Zheito maintained that deteriorating condition of Marwaripatti’s main road was not merely an inconvenience, but a stark reminder of prolonged neglect. He pointed out that the area has flourished as a hub of entrepreneurship, commerce, and peaceful coexistence, but residents feel that their contributions and sacrifices remain undervalued. He said Marwaripatti, home to hundreds of business families who fuel Dimapur’s economy, deserved recognition through reliable infrastructure, especially durable and well-maintained roads.
Zheito further stated that neglecting such a vital economic centre sends a discouraging message to all. MABA, therefore, urged the government, urban development department, and all responsible authorities to take immediate measures to improve road infrastructure.
