
Micro, Small & Medium Enterprise Development Institute (MSME-DI) inaugurated its new office building at 6th Mile, Sovima, Dimapur, adjacent to Nagaland Bamboo Recourse Centre, on December 4.
Addressing the gathering, chief guest, secretary, MSME Government of India, BB Swain, asserted that through the inauguration of the new building, the department would concentrate on skill development and training centre for the youths, keeping in mind of entrepreneurship.
He added that the ministry aims to develop industrialism with the help of state government and coming with a plan where various integral steps could be taken to boost skill development.
Swain also dwelt on the importance of the ministry and department sitting together with various organizations such as Business Association of Nagas (BAN), adding that the department needs local industries to come up and participate in all projects and schemes. “Our primary aim is to create special and strategic investment plan for the state”, he stated.
Addressing media fraternity after the inaugural programme, when asked whether the department had plans to host industrial exhibitions, he stated that the ministry and the department has various schemes and policy to do so, however he said the institutions should approach the department. He maintained that excellent coordination is the need of the hour between the ministries, state industries, and organisations.
He further added that one should also focus on changing of times, whereby asserting on the importance of tech and digital knowledge.
He later added that the inauguration of the new MSME DI building would have great potential to implement various skill development and trainings.
Meanwhile, delivering a brief message as guest of honour, joint secretary, ministry of MSME, Government of India, Mercy Epao stressed on the importance of having a strategic plan and assured ministries assistance whenever needed.
She further urged the department to try to build better ecosystem for the state, adding that there were many areas which the state needed development.
Earlier, welcome speech was addressed by joint director, MSME-DI, Tali Longchar, while short speech was delivered by commissioner and secretary, Industries and commerce, K Kevichusa. Briefing on activities of BAN was delivered by president BAN, L Mongkum Jamir.
Inauguration of new office building and unveiling of plaque was initiated by secretary, MSME, Government of India, BB Swain, while signing of MoU with BAN was carried out by Tali Longchar and L Mongkum Jamir.
