Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio has expressed deep sorrow at the demise of Dr. Visasieü Yiese, neè Kire (Kobunuo), former director, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland, who passed away on January 7 at Eden Medical Centre, Dimapur.
In his condolence message, Rio described Dr. Kobunuo as one of the seniormost Naga pediatricians who diligently executed her duties with strong work ethics.
He said she was a competent officer who served the state government in various capacities with passion and dedication, leaving an indelible mark on the healthcare sector. Rio noted that she was a resilient and courageous woman, firm in her beliefs, and kind and helpful to those in need.
Her compassion and empathy towards patients, particularly children, earned her respect and admiration from colleagues and the community.
He said her demise was a great loss to Naga society, the medical fraternity and the Angami community, noting that the void left by her would be difficult to fill.
Conveying condolences on behalf of his family, the chief minister prayed that Almighty God grant courage and comfort to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss. He further prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
