NCC trained on emergency response plan at CATC

NCC cadets undergoing the 10-day Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) at St Joseph University, Chumukedima, were trained on the emergency response plan and preparedness by the Nagaland State Disaster Relief Force (SDRF) and the Fire and Emergency Services departments.

Led by SI Viboto H Sumi, the SDRF team elucidated various disaster types and mitigation techniques, covering aspects such as rescue operations, First Aid, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and the proper handling of casualties. Inspector Kent and the NFES team introduced the cadets to different fire types, fire extinguishers, and firefighting techniques. The practical demonstration, including extinguishing a domestic fire and employing a fire hydrant, captivated the cadets’ attention.

Following the practical demonstrations, informative lectures on “Prevention of HIV and AIDS” and “Drug Abuse” were delivered by Bendang and Jongpong from the Kripa Foundation.

Officer on Special Duty to the Chief Minister, Nellayappan B visited the camp and observed rifle firing exercises on the Firing Simulator while sharing his NCC cadet experiences during an interaction with the attending cadets.
