NLA speaker attends NERCPA conference

Nagaland Legislative Assembly speaker, Chotisuh  Sazo accompanied by deputy speaker, Imtikumzuk and a team of officers from Nagaland Legislative Assembly attended the 15th  North East Region Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (NERCPA) conference at Agartala, Tripura from May 30 –June 2.  
The conference was inaugurated by speaker Lok Sabha, Sumitra Mahajan. 
In a press release, advisor to NLA speaker, P. Purushothaman said that during the conference various issues confronted by States in the region were discussed.  
Besides, two vital topics- “To strengthen the NERCPA for further development of North East region States” and “Soil erosion in North East India and its impact on the local populace and how political intervention could help  resolve the issues” were deliberated. 
Sazo also took active part in the discussion and suggested that NERCPA appeal to the Government of India to implement suitable policies and programmes for the development of the NE states.
