NPF central through its press bureau asserted that “… no member (active/primary) of NPF can fool or outwit the long arm of rules and disciplined as enshrined in respective Articles of the NPF Constitution”.
In a press note NPF press bureau said that the party was very clear on its stand and reiterated that the suspension order of Lok Sabha MP, Neiphiu Rio “was issued only after thorough scrutiny and adequate examination and observation, with reference to relevant sections of the NPF constitution wherein, neither the party president, Dr Shürhozelie Liezietsu nor any others can interfere for personal interest”.
The party however said it was high time that the widening imbroglio within the “big grand old NPF family”, and “the mutually defeating and destructive in-fighting be settled or ended; in whichever way can be acceptably a gift to the future”.
Such cases of suspension or even expulsion, NPF said do take place in political parties or NGOs and even in religious communities irrespective of denomination. NPF said it was inevitable in order to uphold, promote and abide by the established disciplines and rules of the organization and to ensure meaningful cohesion and unity for a strong and healthy future. NPF said Neiphiu Rio, the lone Lok Sabha MP, “needs to religiously meditate, introspect impartially and come to modest reality, rather than obstinately stray, falling prey to wild agendas of destructive wishful thinking”.
