Mumbai, May 9 (IANS): Bollywood star and dancing sensation Nora Fatehi has been confirmed to perform at the FIFA World Cup 2026 opening ceremony, set to take place on June 12 at BMO Field in Toronto, Canada, making her one of the most prominent Indian faces on what promises to be a spectacular global stage. She joins an impressive lineup of Canadian and international artists including Michael Bublé, Alanis Morissette, Alessia Cara, Elyanna, Jessie Reyez, Sanjoy, Vegedream, and William Prince for the Toronto ceremony. Separately, the USA opening ceremony will feature global music icons Anitta, Future, Katy Perry, Lisa, Rema, and Tyla, making FIFA World Cup 2026 a sweeping celebration of international music, culture, and entertainment across the co-hosting nations. FIFA President Gianni Infantino described the Toronto ceremony as “a powerful reflection of Canada’s identity,” adding that it would welcome the world through music and culture in a celebration that is “uniquely Canadian while also connected to a larger story unfolding across Mexico and the United States.”
The FIFA World Cup 2026 is set to be the biggest in the tournament’s history, featuring 104 matches across 16 host cities, with the opening match scheduled for June 11 in Mexico City and the grand final to be played on July 19 at the New York New Jersey Stadium. As for Nora Fatehi herself, the 34-year-old actress and performer made her acting debut in the 2014 Hindi film Roar: Tigers of the Sundarbans and rose to fame through special appearance songs in major Telugu blockbusters including Temper, Baahubali: The Beginning, and Kick 2.
