PDCCI holds annual general meeting

DIMAPUR: Phek District Chamber of Commerce & Industry (PDCCI) conducted its 4th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Uko Café, Chozuba Town, hosted by the Business Union Chozuba Town (BUCT), under the theme “Strengthening Local Economy through Responsible Leadership”,on May 15.
A press release by PDCCI stated that delivering the keynote address, PDCCI president, Razoukhruyi Dozo highlighted several pressing issues affecting business sector, and stressed the need for greater Government support towards strengthening business community and improving case of doing business.
He emphasized importance of creating opportunities for youth, addressing multiple taxation issues, streamlining NLTP Act appropriately, and strengthening local entrepreneurship in order to compete effectively in growing market economy.
Dozo further stated that more than 95% of businesses operating within Phek district were owned and managed by local entrepreneurs, which he described as a positive sign for Chakhesang community and reflection of growing entrepreneurial spirit among local people.
Former PDCCI president, Chetezo Akami, while delivering exhortation, encouraged business community to maintain courtesy, professionalism, and good relations with customers.
He also urged local entrepreneurs to continue striving forward with dedication and hard work, especially considering that many Nagas remain first-generation entrepreneurs.
President, BUCT, RhütsüyiRhakho, in his welcome address emphasized the importance of collective cooperation, unity, and collaboration among various business bodies for overall welfare and advancement of the business community.
The meeting witnessed participation of executives and representatives from affiliated business bodies across Phek district, where important deliberations concerning future of district business community, institutional reforms, economic policies, and sustainable business development were extensively discussed.
The meeting also deliberated on future organisational reforms, strategic district business policies, institutional strengthening, and long-term economic development goals for welfare of business community across Phek district.
