Poultry traders form body to curb illegal taxation

To check and curb illegal taxation and collection to poultry traders in Dimapur, the poultry traders under Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) jurisdiction formed Dimapur Poultry Retailers Union (DPRU) on May 2. 

Speaking over the phone with the elected president, Tiameren Aier informed that poultry retailers under DMC conducted meeting at Zeliangrong village council hall, Dimapur on May 2, to discuss for the welfare of poultry traders in Dimapur. 

He informed that the union was formed to curb illegal taxation and fines imposed by several organisations and individuals as well as to check rates of traders involved in poultry meat business. 

He lamented that the illegal taxation had cost huge losses to many traders. 

It may be mentioned that the newly formed union would function under the leadership of Tiameren Aier as president, Keyigwalung as general secretary and Kimongtangba Jamir as treasurer for a period of five years.
