Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) chairman, Asano Sekhose has asked private schools to put more focus on the classroom learning and to make learning more fruitful.
According to a press release by All Nagaland Private Schools’ Association (ANPSA), Sekhose was delivering a keynote address as guest of honour at the ANPSA Central’s 40th Annual General Body Meeting (AGBM) special session held under the theme, “Inspired By Possibilities”, on May 27 at Platinum Hall, Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC), Kohima.
In a PowerPoint presentation, NBSE chairman also made some comparative assessment of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) results of the last five years between government and private schools in Nagaland.
She also congratulated the private schools on the HSLC and HSSLC results, and appreciated ANPSA for being a platform to all the schools for sharing the practices and concerns.
With National Education Policy of India 2020 (NEP 2020), Sekhose informed that NBSE was coming up with lot of examination reforms. She said CCTVs would be installed in all the exam centres for better coordination and better management of examination.
Special invitee, deputy director, department of Higher Education, Dr. Medongoi Rhakho exhorted the members and emphasised on the need to retain the child’s smile throughout the schooling period.
Earlier, in the first session, many key issues such as minority status for private schools, Right to Education (RTE), Inner Line Permit (ILP), The Birds and Bees Talk (TBBT) program, which are of “great concerns” to private schools were discussed.
The members also raised some pertinent questions during an interactive session with the guest of honour and special invitee, which were duly clarified.
The first session was moderated by ANPSA ex-officio advisor, Bithungo Kikon; in the second session, a special number was presented by the students of The Vineyard Kohima; vote of thanks and benediction by ANPSA Central vice president, Rev. Fr. Jacob Charalel. More than 100 members from across the state attended the day-long session.
