RALH, YAPO react to remarks against Patton

DIMAPUR, AUG 27 (NPN)

Ralan Area Lotha Hoho (RALH) and Yamhon Area Public Organisation (YAPO) have reacted to what they called “the recent undue criticism” against deputy chief minister in charge of home and border affairs, Y. Patton, over his visit to the Disputed Area belt (DAB).
In a joint press release, RALH chairman CS Ovung and YAPO president Thungdemo Tongue acknowledged the “tireless efforts and genuine concern” demonstrated by deputy chief minister in addressing the hardships faced by the Naga people in the border area.
RALH and YAPO recalled that deputy chief minister personally visited the eviction area on two occasions within a span of one month. They said Patton also conducted spot verification, interacted with CSOs and the public, and even held a joint meeting with the forest minister of Assam.
The two bodies said that Patton’s leadership has been evident as he continued to stand firm in defending the rights and interest of the people.
RALH and YAPO also expressed appreciation to legislators– Achumbemo Kikon and Y.M. Humtsoe, officials from the administration, police and forest department and various CSOs for the support and encouragement and for accompanying deputy chief minister during his visit to the eviction-affected area.
Further, RALH and YAPO appealed to all the legislators and leaders of Nagaland to rise above individual and political differences and extend their support towards protecting the rights, dignity, and future of the Naga public in the border area.
