A video reel-making competition on the theme “Clean Air, Clean Future” was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Kohima, on October 3 as part of the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) 2024–25.
Jointly organised by the District Administration and the District Industries Centre for Information, the event aimed to raise awareness on industrial emissions and promote public engagement in environmental sustainability.
The prize distribution programme, chaired by Dr. Riku, began with an introductory round and experience-sharing session by participants, highlighting the importance of self-awareness, preventive measures, and collective responsibility in combating air pollution.
Deputy Commissioner Kohima, B. Henok Buchem, in his address, encouraged participants to become ambassadors of the clean air campaign. He urged them to spread the message widely, stating that community participation is key to the success of such initiatives. “Take inspiration from leaders like Greta Thunberg, make a change, and be the change for a cleaner Kohima,” he said, while reminding the gathering that air is a necessity without alternatives.
