Rilan village gets new gate

A new village gate of Rilan village, Dimapur constructed with the fund provided by the Rural Development was inaugurated by BDO, RD Chumukedima block, K. Yamao Konyak as chief guest on Friday.  
The inauguration programme commenced with a dedicatory prayer by Dimapur Lotha Baptist Church associate pastor Lanlongo Yanthan in the presence of neighbouring villages’ chairmen and village elders. 
After inaugurating the gate, BDO lauded Rilan village council for judicious utilisation of funds despite of the limited funds. He urged them to continue with the trend so that more developmental activities take place in the village. 
BDO also lamented that despite the department providing assistance, the success story in the state was not encouraging. He however, expressed happiness that the small village were taking up the developmental works in the right direction. He further called for change in the prevailing system by urging the people to strive harder to bring in development in their areas by properly utilising the funds provided by the government. The chief guest was accompanied by department officials. 
Earlier, the inauguration programme was chaired by VDB secretary Longshibemo Shitiri and the welcome address was delivered by village chairman Nribemo Ovung. 
Rilan village bordering Assam was established in 1991.
