
The Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Memorial Development Society of Nagaland (NSCBMDSN) has expressed its gratitude to Governor P.B. Acharya, all successive chief ministers of Nagaland, MP Rajya Sabha, president BJP Nagaland and various NGO’s and organizations for writing to the Prime Minister and Cultural Minister to declare Ruzazho, a National Heritage Village.
Chairman, Er. Vekho Swuro, in a press release said that NSCBMDSN has learned that Dr. Mahesh Sharma, Cultural Minister GoI had conveyed to P.B Acharya, through telephone that the GoI had agreed in principle to declare Ruzazho a National Heritage Village and that formal procedures were in the process. The NSCBMDSN along with the Village Council will be heading to Delhi to pursue the matter.
The release reported that on April 2017, a seminar on “The Battle of Kohima and its impact to India’s Freedom” was organized at RuzazhoVillage. According to the press release, many eminent researchers and scholars spoke in the seminar and declared the village “the first Administered Village by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose with his Indian National Army (INA).”
P.B. Acharya, Governor of Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh and Tathagatha Roy, Governor of Tripura, graced the occasion as chief guest and guest of honour. Both of them had promised to pursue the matter with the GoI to declare the village a National Heritage Village.
The release added that Acharya had been tirelessly working, communicating with the GoI through meetings and writing to the Prime Minister and Minister of State (Independent Charge) Ministry of Culture & Tourism, in order to fulfil his promise.
The consecutive chief ministers of Nagaland, and MP Rajya Sabha had also written to both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Dr. Mahesh Sharma, Cultural & Tourism Minister, the release said. It also added that Temjen Imna Along, president BJP Nagaland and minister for Higher and Technical Nagaland had also written to Dr. Mahesh Sharma, while various organizations, both from within and outside the state, wrote to the centre to declare Ruzazho a National Heritage Village.
The NSCBMDSN also extended gratitude to Suresh Chavhanke, CMD and Editor-In-Chief, Sudarshan News Channel Ltd., for adopting Ruzazho Village to be developed through CSR and also for following up with the central government “to bring about the promises of the great Indian leader to a reality.”
