A seminar on “Archives, Libraries and Museums: Hubs of Preservation of Cultural Heritage” was held on December 13 at State Public Library, Kohima.
The seminar was jointly organised by the School of Library and Information Science (SLIS), Central University of Gujarat, department of Art and Culture, government of Nagaland and Association of Information and Technology (ASIS&T), South Asia Chapter.
A press release by SLIC Central University of Gujarat stated that the seminar discussed the “feasibility of collaboration and convergence among the three vital memory institutions as central hubs of preserving Naga cultural heritage through the promotion of their cultural heritage collections and partnering to provide value added services for users seeking Naga cultural heritage information”.
Interactive talks were given by deputy director- state museum, Rongsen Pongener, librarian-state library, Khwenu Vitsu, assistant archivist-state archive and the organisers – senior research fellow, Pichano Kikon and assistant professor, from Central University of Gujarat, Dr. Bhakti Gala.
