Sharingain calls on Lok Sabha speaker

Speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Sharingain Longkumer called on speaker of Lok Sabha, Om Birla at his office in Parliament House on February 26. 

A press release from assembly secretariat additional secretary, Jenny Ndang stated that, common interest for state assembly and parliament matters were discussed between the two. Sharingain spoke on the issue of organizing orientation programme for members of state assembly in Kohima through Lok Sabha secretariat’s training and research division, PRIDE. He also stressed on the need for creating greater opportunities for training both assembly secretariat staff in Delhi and Kohima with support of PRIDE. He took up the matter of implementation of e-Governance with Digital India initiatives of the GoI for the NLA. 

Om Birla on his part promised full support and co-operation in fulfilling all the requests placed before him by Sharingain. Sharingain was accompanied by assembly secretary, Dr. P. J. Anthony and the legal consultant, N. Benjamin Newmai.
