State BJP women’s wing, the State Bharatiya Janata Mahila Morcha (BJMM) held its 5th state executive meeting on June 3 at Dimapur.
A press note by general secretary (media) state BJP Nagaland, Jaangsillung Gonmei stated that state BJMM president Sanuo Ngullie in her presidential speech said that the BJP government was pro-poor and understood that poverty in the country was mainly due to corruption. She asserted that women had equal responsibility in the society and should work hand in hand with the menfolk. She said that BJMM should cooperate with the various development programmes of the party and the government work hard towards transforming.
Yogita Singh, the national BJMM secretary and incharge for state BJMM expressed joy in seeing women party workers in this part of the country but regretted on the poor infrastructure visible everywhere. She highlighted the welfare schemes for women and children being implemented by Modiji’s government and cajoled the BJMM workers to help the women of the state to avail them.
Yogita Singh held meeting with the Dimapur –I Mandal BJMM at Dimapur in the evening, wherein, state president, Visasolie Lhoungu speaking on the occasion, said that the Prime Minister Modiji was very concerned for the Nagas. He stressed that BJP was a secular party striving for an equitable society for reasons of which the BJP government has been putting a lot of emphasis on the poor sections of the society with various pro-poor schemes, welfare schemes for women, children, tribals, youths, employment, etc.
State president said that the BJP is coming to power in the state in 2018 election and the BJMM workers therefore should work hard to realize that goal to check corruption and bring about all round development in the state.
Ananta Mishra, organising secretary of BJP Nagaland highlighted the organizational programmes and schedules of the party. From June 6 to 25, BJMM workers would be engaged in the great membership drive by enlisting women memberships by dialing 18002661001 from the applicant’s phone. He emphasized on the mass contact programme from July 5 to 31 in every district, mandals and booths where the BJMM workers should visit every home door-to-door and educate the womenfolk highlighting the government’s schemes particularly those pertaining to women, youths and children.
Mishra encouraged the BJMM workers that they should work hard to ensure the electoral victory of atleast 4 to 5 women MLAs in the state’s 2018 election.
Asangla Ao, general secretary state BJMM, presented the BJMM activities report for the period ending May 2017 followed by the reports from all the BJMM district mahila presidents.
Vikheli Sema, state executive member, strongly encouraged the BJMM to continue to work hard focused on the goal of bringing the party government in the state for all round development.
Earlier, the meeting was presided by the national BJMM secretary and incharge of state BJMM Yogita Singh, chaired by Kethole u Metha, vice president of state BJMM and commenced with an invocation by Rev. Indrajit Sanasham, director, Amazing Grace Mission, Dimapur followed by welcome address by Kaghali Chisi, general secretary of state BJMM. Earlier Yogita had visited the Holy Cross church along with the state BJMM officials and held interaction with the nuns where they prayed for her. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Asangla Ao, general secretary state BJMM.
