STKK serves 14-day ultimatum on DoSE

Saptiqa Area Students’ Union (STKK) has served an ultimatum on the Department of School Education (DoSE) to address its demands concerning shortage of teachers within 14 working days.

In an ultimatum addressed to the principal director school education, STKK president Jevi Kinni Hesso and general secretary Pito Swu reminded that the union had submitted three letters to the department about the lone government high school Saptiqa and Usutomi government middle school, which had been functioning without science and maths teachers for the past two years and appealed for immediate redressal.

STKK has, however, stated that despite repeated appeals to ‘revoke the transfer of teachers with post’ or ‘replace the teachers on their stead’, the department turned a deaf ear to its pleas.

Therefore, STKK has urged the department to immediately address its demands, failing which the union would be compelled to take up democratic measures against the inaction of the department.
