TUN organizes Tenyimi Christian leaders meet

The Tenyimi Union Nagaland (TUN) organised Tenyimi Christian leaders meet with the theme “Christ is the rock of our foundation” on March 26 at Pioneers Hall, CBCC Mission Centre, T. Chikri, Pfutsero under Phek district.


In a press release TUN general secretary, Dr. Tumda Newme, stated that Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC) hosted the meet which was attended by all denominations among the Tenyimi tribes, along with the apex tribal body of Tenyimi in Nagaland.


Talking on the theme, Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) general secretary Rev. Dr. Zelhou Keyho urged the attendees to put Christ as the foundation in life. He strongly advocated for the need to give up self-centeredness and rather propagate an accommodating spirit among the Tenyimi in particular and Nagas in general. TUN president, Kekhwengulo Lea delivered presidential address. Lea highlighted the objective for the formation of the Tenyimi Union in Nagaland.

Tenyimi People’s Organisation (TPO) president, Adv. Timikha Koza, shared greetings. PBCC, executive secretary, Rev. Riimatho Nyusou, ZBCC executive secretary, Rev. Rampaukopoing Michui, North East Institute of Social Science & Research vice principal, Rev. Fr. G. L. Khing and Nagaland Joint Christian Forum vice president, Rev. Dr. N. Paphino, also spoke at the meet. The newly approved constitution of TUN was dedicated and blessed by ABCC executive director, Rev. Dr. Rachiilie Vehienuo.


The programme started with an opening prayer by AG Church Kohima pastor, Rev. T.R. Angami, while welcome address was delivered by CBCC executive secretary, Rev. Dr. Chekrovei Cho-o.
