ULB: SEC designates DCs as ‘Revising Authorities’

State Election Commission has informed that all the deputy commissioners in the state have been designated as “Revising Authorities” under their respective districts on behalf of the State Election Commission in connection with the conduct elections to the Urban Local Bodies.
In a notification, the State Election Commissioner TJ Longkumer said that DCs, as Revising Authorities, will be responsible for disposing of revision application that may be received in connection with scrutiny of nominations during the period of conduct of general election to Municipal and Town Councils, 2024.
“The concerned Deputy Commissioners shall, on receipt of revision application under sub-rule (6) of Rule 27, hear and decide on such application in the manner prescribed under sub-rule (7) thereof by or on the date specified for it in the ‘Election Programme’ which was notified on 20.04.2024,” the notification stated.
