Veterinary College Jalukie observes awareness workshop on healthy living

DIMAPUR

Veterinary College Jalukie, in collaboration with the CMO Office, Peren District, organized a one-day workshop on “Healthy Living: Choose Health Over Habit – Oil & Sugar” at the college seminar hall on Saturday.
At the event, short speech on healthy living was delivered by Dr. Chingakham Sima Chanu, SMS, Home Science, KVK Dimapur.
DPO (NCD), Peren, Dr. G. Viholi Sema, spoke on non-communicable diseases and their prevention while CMO Peren, IDSP Officer, Dr. Imnuksungba, gave a detailed presentation on rabies and its prevention. Assistant Professor, Dept. Veterinary Public Health, Dr. Ragubir Singh, discussed zoonotic diseases and how it can be prevented through “one world one health approach”.
The programme began with participant registration and felicitation of dignitaries, welcome address by Dean of the college, Dr. I. Shakuntala, and vote of thanks by Asst. Prof., Department of Animal Genetics & Breeding CVSc&AH, Jalukie, Dr. Ksh. Mahesh Singh.
As part of the event, a dedicated medical team from the CMO Office, Peren, conducted free diabetes and hypertension screenings, allowing participants to check their health status and receive personalised medical advice.
