Village gates of Tir, Suthozu Nasa; 2 new recognized villages inaugurated

Along with the inauguration of village gates at Tir village at New Showuba and Suthozu Nasa at Phek district, two newly recognised villages-Nsong Namchi under Tening Sub-division, Peren district and Jakphang Hongha under Mon district were also inaugurated on January 18.
Jacob inaugurates Tir village gate
Minister of PHE Jacob Zhimomi inaugurated the Tir village Süngkum (gate) at New Showuba. Delivering his inaugural address, Jacob congratulated the villagers and other communities for their support and cooperation in establishing the village.
He said it was a proud moment for Ugma village as over the years it has produced many leaders politically, socially and church leaders, and the village expanding their horizon in the state was a big achievement. Earlier, the village gate was dedicated by pastor S Noklen Jamir.
Tir village established in 2001 was recognized in 2018.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Tinutoba Jamir and invocation by Imotiba Lkr while welcome address was delivered by Tir Village chairman Imnukloba.
Short speeches were delivered by Seithiekima village council chairman Kelengulie Khro and Ungma Senso Telongjem Dimapur president Lipokmeren.
Suthozu Nasa village gate inaugurated
Suthozu Nasa village gate was inaugurated by retired principal director, department of School Education, Zaveyi Nyekha.
In his address as the chief guest, Nyekha said the occasion marked the onset of a new era and called upon the citizens to maintain oneness and get rid of evils and clanism that destroy harmony and peace.
He called upon the youth to live a life of principle and live by the sweat and not look for shortcuts to become rich as it would land them in trouble.
Nyekha invoked longevity among the citizens of the village, bountiful harvest and encouraged the community to emphasis on education for all round development and posterity to move forward.
During the occasion, Gate Construction Committee convenor-Thujongoyi Nyekha, presented a report of the gate construction; eldest village citizen, Porayi Nyekha, presented an account of village formation.
Welcome address was delivered by village council chairman, Besulhu Nyekha, while vote of thanks was proposed by construction committee treasurer, Zulhunu Veswuh, treasurer, Construction Committee and the programme was led by Thepuchiyi Nyekha.
Namri inaugurates Nsong Namchi
The newly recognised village, Nsong Namchi, under Tening Sub-division, Peren was inaugurated by advisor for Water Resources, Namri Nchang on January 18.
Namri while speaking as the special guest encouraged the people from the village to promote the spirit of oneness and unity for progressiveness in all spheres. He apprised the gathering that his sole motive was to promote the welfare of the people without any differentiation.
He asked the villagers to be vigilant of the various propaganda that were hovering all around before the state election.
Other who spoke at the program included, president NDPP 6th Tening A/C, AkuNhai; EAC Tening, ImtiwabangAier; EAC Nsong, Yimkum I. Ozukum and ADC Tening.
Chairman Nsong Namchi delivered the welcome address and president, NSU, Rangtalak proposed the vote of thanks. A cultural dance was also performed by Nsong village youth organisation.
Earlier, the advisor also unveiled the monolith which was followed by a dedicatory prayer by pastor NsongNamchi, Saha.
Jakphang Hongha village inauguration
E. E. Pangteang inaugurated the newly recognised Jakphang Hongha village under Mon district as special guest.
In his speech, EE Pangteang highlighted how the newly formed village came into existence and thanked government under the leadership of chief minister Neiphiu Rio for executing developmental activities across the state.
Earlier, MT Tahkai, pastor Jakphang Baptist Church dedicated the monolith before it was unveiled by the special guest.
Langkhu Konyak, convenor Jakphang Hongha give a brief highlight on the newly recognised village.
ADC, Aboi, D Yongnyak Class-1 Contractor and M Hanlang, Village council chairman Jakphang also spoke at the event.
The programme chaired by Roupfukouto Noudi, SDO (C) Angjangyang began with an invocation by Manpa Hongha fellowship incharge.
