Advisor for Social Welfare, Wangpang Konyak, inaugurated the new District Programme Officer (DPO), ICDS office under the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Nagaland, in Noklak on May 29.
Acconding to a DIPR report, Konyak stated that the new office will enhance accessibility to departmental schemes for stakeholders in the district. He emphasized the importance of community support for effective implementation and encouraged stakeholders to work in close coordination with the government. Highlighting the significance of the Social Welfare Department, he assured that infrastructure in the district would continue to improve, and urged Noklak to strive for progress in line with other districts.
Deputy Commissioner P. Mono Khiamniungan expressed gratitude to the department for establishing the DPO (ICDS) office in Noklak and proposed additional infrastructure development, including the urgent need for a Children’s Home in the district.
President, Khiamniungan Tribal Council, L. Ngon, described the inauguration as a milestone for Noklak and expressed hope that the office will play a vital role in supporting unemployed youth, displaced individuals, and the wider community.
Earlier, a dedicatory prayer was pronounced by Pastor, Noklak Town Baptist Church, A Penglang.
