WASU condemns verbal assault

Wakching Area Students’ Union (WASU) has expressed extreme shock on hearing of the January 25 incident where BDO Sanis, Hamdok M Konyak, was allegedly verbally assaulted by VDB secretary of Old Aree village, Peter Kikon.

In a condemnation note, WASU president, Chinge M Konyak stated that Peter Kikon threatened to vandalise the office of BDO Sanis, who later in the evening, came to the residence of Hamdok M Konyak and fired in the air from his pistol just outside the residence.
Wakching Area Students’ Union strongly condemned the “uncivilised action” of Peter Kikon, and appealed to the law enforcement authorities to award befitting punishment.
The union also demanded that Hamdok M Konyak be immediately transferred out of his present place of posting as his safety and wellbeing has been compromised.
