Wokha BS&G inducts new team

WOKHA Jun 1 (NPN): Wokha District Bharat Scouts & Guides (WDBS&G) has inducted new office bearers during a ceremony held at the DC Conference Hall, Wokha, on June 1.
During the induction ceremony, Deputy Commissioner of Wokha, K. Mhathung Tsanglao, was installed as the district president of WDBS&G, while senior Sub-Divisional Officer, Nchumbemo Jami, assumed charge as the district secretary. The induction was administered by T. Zuchanthung Lotha, District Organising Commissioner (Scout), Wokha.
Addressing the gathering, the newly inducted district president highlighted the importance of the Scouts and Guides movement in nurturing disciplined, responsible and service-oriented youth. He also assured support towards strengthening the movement across the district.
District secretary Nchumbemo Jami encouraged schools, particularly private institutions, to establish more Scouts and Guides units to expand youth participation.
As part of the programme, awards were presented to outstanding Scout and Guide leaders and units. Zuben Tsopoe of Cistus School received the Best Unit Leader (Scout Master) award, while Areni Humtsoe of LMS was honoured as Best Unit Leader (Guide Captain). Cistus School, Wokha, was adjudged the Best Unit.
The ceremony also featured a special presentation by the Scouts and Guides of Cistus School. A vote of thanks was proposed by Z. Libenthung Murry, Scout Master of GMS Wokha Town ‘D’, and the programme concluded with the National Anthem.
The programme was compered by Sulanbeni Kikon, Guide Captain of PM Shri GHS Wokha Village.
