Workshop on reviving co-operative societies conducted at Pfutsero

A one-day workshop on “reviving co-operative societies” was organised by Phek District Co-operative Societies Union (PDCSU) and hosted by the Chakhesang Women Welfare MPCS Ltd at BTC conference hall, T. Chikri Pfutsero under Phek district on Wednesday. 

A press release from PDCSU stated that Wepe Ritse, registrar, co-operative societies, Govt. of Nagaland graced the workshop as the guest speaker.  Ritse said that co-operative society is not a welfare society but it was for the upliftment of economy for the society and challenged the cooperative societies to do timely audit (every year). 
Imsunaro, DDM, NABARD Phek spoke on “sustainable development of co-operative societies”, wherein she highlighted on the importance of credit discipline and emphasised on building relationship with the bank by maintaining records. 
Vechüloü Kanuo highlighted on the works of CWWMPCS where they have impacted over 10,000 women and aims at a community free from disparity. She also shared the aims and targets to be achieved by 2030 where Phek district will be made a horticultural zone and organic hub, also by 2025 sufficient piglets in the district and also covering other districts.
She mentioned about the food processing unit, the first and only unit run by women society in Phek district. 
The programme was chaired by Kekhwengulo Lea, president PDCSU and welcome address by Vechüloü Kanuo.
