A district-level workshop on Routine Immunization (RI) strengthening and surveillance for Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPDs) was conducted on Wednesday at the Conference Hall, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) on May 28.
A press release by the office of CMO Tuensang informed that the training was organised for District Surveillance Officer (DSO), epidemiologist, Medical Officers (MOs), Community Health Officers (CHOs) and vaccinators.
During the workshop, Senior Medical Officer (SMO) WHO, Dr. Sheila Longkumer, spoke on surveillance of vaccine preventable diseases, measles differential diagnosis, measles complication, Congenital Rubella Syndrome (CRS), Measles and Rubella (MR) specimen collection kit, MR OB response and confirmation, Acute Flaccid Paralysis (AFP), important information required during notification, investigation on AFP case, VPD surveillance suspected diphtheria, etc.
