DISHA meeting held at Longleng

District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting was held on April 26, at DCs conference hall Longleng.
According to a DIPR report, a brief introduction on DISHA was highlighted by Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and chairperson (DISHA) Longleng, Tokheho Yepthomi. The MP also called for completion of all projects work at the earliest.
Department of Food and Civil Supplies highlighted works and activities under different schemes on various flagship programmes and emphasized on importance under PMGKAY and “One Nation One Ration Card (ONORC)”.
Department of PWD (R&B) presented activities of the department, including inspection, supervision, construction and maintenance of roads and bridges. The ongoing schemes such as PMGSY-4, Economic importance (E) road, North East Road Sector Development Scheme (NERSDS) 4, North East Special Infrastructure Development Schemes (NESIDS) under NEC and Central Road Fund (CRF), and Special Assistance to State for Capital Investment (SASCI) were also briefed.
EE PWD (R&B) Longleng assured that Yongam-Yongnyah Road via Nian would be completed within two weeks, while the house reiterated on pressing need of creation of SDO PWD (R&B) in Tamlu ADC Hq.
Meanwhile, department of Agriculture presented various CSS activities such as NFSM (National Food Security Mission), NFSM Oil Palm, RAD (NMSA)-Rainfed Area Development, (RKVY)-Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana, (PMKSY) – Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana, SMAM- Sub Mission on Agriculture Mechanization, PM Kisan (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi) were addressed. The department also provided marketing sheds, distribution of tools and implements, and irrigation channels.
Department of Horticulture highlighted schemes implemented such as MIDH (Mission for integrated Development of Horticulture), PMKSY (Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchal Yojana), CDB (Coconut Development Board), North Eastern Council. Department of PHED Longleng Division presented on the flagship programme of GoI, Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and its implementation status.
The list of villages taken up under JJM during 2019-20, 2020-21, 2021-22 and those proposed during 2022-23 was also highlighted.
Meanwhile, Department of Health & Family Welfare presented health units under Longleng, man-power of the department, and report on Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), JSY/JSSK Incentives to Beneficiaries (Mother & Infant), Nutritional Support to TB Patients, and National Center for Vector Borne Diseases Control activities carried out by the district were also highlighted, while the department of Social Welfare presented their activities and achievements under programmes like (PMMVY) Maternity Benefit Program, ICDS and Poshan Pakhwada.
Department of Rural Development highlighted on centrally sponsored schemes in the district such as MGNREGA, poor identification of wage seekers focusing job cards, demand of works by the job card holder, identification of schemes for wage intensive, payment of wages fortnightly, issue of work site facilities, material component and timely inspection of schemes. Lastly, department of Power presented their activities and achievements under CSS programmes such as (DDUGJ) Additional and DDUGJY- NEW (BAL UE-HH) Schemes in the district.
The release added the meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Longleng, and member secretary DISHA Longleng, Dharam Raj, who welcomed the MP and all members. The meeting concluded with vote of thanks by Project Director, DRDA Longleng, Moakaba.
